Discover the World of Blind and Low Vision Sport

Delivered in partnership with Blind Sports Australia, this 8-week program introduces participants to a range of sports and physical activities designed specifically for people who are blind or have low vision. Participants will develop skills, build confidence, improve fitness, and connect with others in a fun, supportive, and inclusive environment.

Who is the program for?

This program is open to people who are blind or have low vision of all experience levels. Whether you’re completely new to sport, looking for a new challenge, or simply interested in trying something different, Blind Sport Fundamentals offers an accessible and supportive way to get involved.

All equipment is provided, and no previous experience is necessary.

What to expect:

  • Inclusive and welcoming environment
  • Experienced coaches and guided activities
  • Opportunities to build confidence and develop new skills
  • Meet and connect with others in the blind and low vision community
  • Explore a range of sports before choosing activities you enjoy

How does the program look like?

  • 2 weeks of Blind Football
  • 2 weeks of Goalball
  • 2 weeks of Blind Cricket
  • 2 weeks of Exercise Physiologist-led sessions

Participants will spend two weeks exploring each activity, allowing time to learn the fundamentals, develop skills and gain confidence before moving on to the next sport. All sessions are delivered in a safe, inclusive and supportive environment.

Cost:First two weeks FREE, $120 for the remaining six weeks.

You can use your NDIS funding to participate in the program, or we can invoice you directly.

FAQs

Do I need to have experience?

We welcome beginners, with all training and coaching provided. If you have any questions or concerns, contact our team on 07 3253 3333 and we’ll be happy to provide more details.

Can I use my NDIS funding?

Yes! Just let us know when you register, and we will issue you with invoices to claim through your NDIS funding. For athletes who do not have NDIS funding, you can pay at the time of registration.

What if I want to sign up mid-term?

You can sign up at any time during the term to give it a go. We will simply invoice you for any lessons remaining.

Will it be competitive?

Not at all! You can play just for fun or if you are interested in pursuing the next level, chat with our experienced coaches.
