Supporting ex-service personnel

RSL (Queensland Branch) and Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association have joined forces again in 2017 to improve the health and wellbeing of injured and ill Queensland ex-servicemen and women under a revitalised relationship.

The partnership, which was first established in 2010, has now become a key player in RSL’s drive to promote healthy and active lifestyles amongst ex-service personnel within Queensland. The arrangement will assist to remove barriers to health and fitness for veterans with physical or mental injuries, provide them with a chance to reconnect with their community through sport, and achieve their personal goals.

As part of RSL’s wider focus on veteran health and wellbeing, this relationship is poised to support ex-service personnel overcome adversities after injury.  Veterans will be able to access the Association’s  expertise,  specialist equipment and purpose-built gym and rehabilitation centre in Bowen Hills for fitness assessments and exercise programming including home programs, personal training and exercise therapy programs.
