At Sporting Wheelies, we believe that staying active later in life should be enjoyable, achievable and empowering.

That’s why we created EverActive, a welcoming exercise program designed especially for over-60s who want to stay strong, improve their balance, and keep doing the things they love.

Whether you want to keep up with the grandkids, maintain your independence or simply feel more confident on your feet, EverActive is here to help you move forward – one step at a time.

What’s EverActive All About?

EverActive is a 45-minute group exercise session followed by morning tea and light refreshments — because movement should feel good in every way.

Each weekly session includes:

  • Six guided exercise stations (6 minutes each)
  • Transitions and explanations at every step
  • Celebrations of your progress
  • A friendly space to connect with others

You don’t need to be an athlete or have exercise experience. Every session is tailored by expert Exercise Physiologists who know how to support your body, your goals, and your lifestyle.

How It Works

Before your first session, we’ll schedule a quick phone assessment to understand your goals, movement level, and areas you’d like to improve. This helps us personalise your experience and ensure you’re set up for success.

When: Wednesdays, 10.00am – 11.00am

Special offer: Your first two sessions are FREE, and after that it’s just $15 per class with a pay-as-you-go system that fits your schedule.

Who is EverActive for?

EverActive is ideal for anyone aged 60+ who wants to stay active, improve balance and strength, enjoy group social activities, and maintain independence. You don’t need prior exercise experience.

What if I've never exercised before?

No problem! Our instructors work with you at your pace. All exercises can be modified and are designed for real-world function – like playing with grandkids or moving safely around the house.

What kind of exercises are involved?

EverActive focuses on evidence-based balance and strength training including:

  • Lateral and anterior weight shifting
  • Standing and seated movements
  • Strengthening lower limbs
  • Bone-loading impact activities
  • Narrow base of support exercises
  • Dual-tasking to improve brain-body connection
Why is this kind of exercise important as we age?

As we get older, changes like reduced muscle strength, slower reaction times and lower bone density can increase the risk of falls. But research shows targeted exercise can reduce falls by up to 39%! EverActive helps you stay stronger, safer and more independent.

What's included in the initial phone assessment?

We’ll ask a few questions to understand your current mobility and goals. This helps us tailor the session to suit your needs and ensure you feel confident starting the program.

Can I get involved in other ways?

Absolutely. We also offer volunteer opportunities through EverActive. It’s a great way to stay engaged, give back and meet new people while staying active.
