Queensland Paralympian Simon Patmore has been selected along with fellow Commonwealth Games champions Sally Pearson and Kieren Perkins to unveil the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games emblem next Thursday (4 April).
Patmore is the reigning Commonwealth champion in the men’s 100m (T46) after winning gold in the event at the 2010 Dehli Games.
The unveiling will mark exactly five years until the Opening Ceremony in 2018. The emblem will symbolise to the world the Gold Coast’s distinct character and unique attributes, while highlighting the Commonwealth Games as one of the world’s great international sporting events.
The ceremony will take place from 7am on Thursday 4 April at the Broadwater Parklands, Southport. Anyone is welcome to attend.
