Regular physical activity can play a significant role in patients’ rehabilitation and wellbeing following a spinal cord injury or brain injury.
Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association runs weekly activities at the Spinal Injury Unit and Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit at Brisbane's Princess Alexandra Hospital to introduce patients to a variety of sport, recreation and fitness activities.
The hospital programs provide:
- information about the services available through the Association and other providers
- the opportunity to meet and be inspired by athletes with a disability
- the chance to try new sports and modified equipment
We offer complimentary Association membership to patients to encourage them to pursue sport and healthy activity following their discharge from hospital.
