The latest round of the Queensland Government’s ‘Get Started’ funding scheme to help more young people into sport and healthy activity opens Wednesday 12 July 2017.

Department of National Parks, Recreation, Sport and RacingA voucher of up to $150 is available for Queensland children and young people (aged from 5 to 17) who can least afford or may otherwise benefit from joining a sport or recreation club.

Parents, carers and guardians can apply for a voucher to help pay for club membership and participation fees for eligible clubs, including Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association. All of the Association’s regular boccia, goalball, wheelchair basketball and wheelchair rugby programs are covered by the vouchers.

Note: The program ensures that each child is only able to receive one voucher per calendar year. Vouchers are allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Get Started vouchers are part of the State Government’s ‘Get in the Game’ program. The latest round will close when all available vouchers are issued. If the voucher allocation is not reached, the round will close on 27 September 2017.

Vouchers must be presented to a registered club by 13 November 2017.
