Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association provides a rewarding learning environment for students seeking practicum placement as part of their studies in areas such as:
- Human Movement
- Physiotherapy
- Business Management
- Journalism
- Nursing
- Sport and Event Management
- Community Services
Placements can vary in duration from short placements up to 400 hours and tend to be project-based, with goals and proposed outcomes identified prior to starting the placement.
There are also research opportunities for undergraduate and/or postgraduate students (discussions with lecturers and our staff may help identify potential study areas).

Working in our gym
Students can gain valuable hands-on experience working with the experienced staff in ‘The Gym’ at our Brisbane headquarters. This need not be part of a formal student placement, and with adequate qualifications, it may lead to paid Gym Supervisor positions within the Association.
