2018 Statewide Athlete Funding Grant Program applications open

19/12/17

The 2018 Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association Statewide Athlete Funding Grant Program applications are now open (closing Wednesday 14 February 2018).

2017 saw us provide athlete funding grants to athletes across a variety of sports including wheelchair basketball, golf, goalball, athletics, boccia, tennis and lawn bowls.

Athlete grants assisted Queensland athletes with a disability who are members of Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association, to attend both national and international competitions, with great success.

One of the athletes who received a funding grant in 2017 was wheelchair racer, Nathan Donaldson, who after a successful domestic season qualified to represent Australia at the World Para Junior Championships in Switzerland in August; bringing home Bronze and Silver medals.

Association CEO John Swete Kelly said “We are very proud to be able to provide direct financial support to our athletes to assist them to achieve their sporting dreams. We look forward to continuing this support into the future.”

Applications for the 2018-2019 grants close on Wednesday 14 February 2018. Complete your application online now at http://bit.ly/2018Funding
